One (1) winner will be selected based upon points received during the voting phase of the contest for the given month. Void where prohibited.
2. The entry submission period begins on the 1st of every month and ends on the last day of that month. The voting period begins on the 1st of the following month and ends on the last day of that month. Any prizes offered for a given contest period will be rewarded within the following week.
Rat Paradise is not responsible for late, lost, is misdirected entries (in the case of the contest itself) or correspondence (in the case of finalizing reward details after the contest has ended.
3. While the Contest is open to everyone except for officers and directors of Sponsor and Promoters, their respective related companies and agents, as well as the immediate family (defined as parents, spouse, children, siblings and grandparents) and household members of each such employee, officer and director are not eligible to enter, Rat Paradise assumes no fault or liability for entries submitted by minors and/or individuals residing in locations where such contests are otherwise prohibited.
By participating, entrant agrees to abide by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding in all respects.

6. Within 4 days after voting end, Sponsor will contact the winner from among all entrants. Entrant selected must comply with all terms and conditions of these Official Rules, and winning is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements.
Should any prize be offered that month:
The potential winner will be notified by email within three (3) days of the drawing with a request for their address. The potential winner must respond within three (3) days. Within three (3) days from receipt of winners address, Sponsor will send the prize.
7. The prize has a minimum retail value of 10.00
No substitution, assignment or transfer of prize permitted. Winner is solely responsible for any and all applicable fees and taxes associated with prize receipt and use.
8. Except where prohibited, participation in the "America's Funniest Rat" Monthly Contest and "Best Photo" prize constitutes winner's consent to Sponsor's use of winner's name, pet's photo and name, opinions, hometown and state for promotional purposes in any media without further payment or consideration.
9. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or modify the Contest if fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond Sponsor's reasonable control impairs the integrity of the Contest, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. In such event, Sponsor reserves the right to award the prize at random from among the eligible entries received up to the time of the impairment. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to deliberately damage Sponsor's or any Promoter's Web site or undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil laws and, should such an attempt be made, Sponsor and Promoters reserve the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Sponsor's failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
10. Entrant agrees that: (1) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest or any prizes awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by appropriate California State Court located closest to San Jose, CA; (2) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Contest but in no event attorneys' fees; and (3) under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the entrant, Sponsor and Promoter in connection with the Contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of California, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the State of California or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of California. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.
